After missing the last few years of Back to the 50’s car shows, this year’s schedule allowed me to get out there. If you didn’t know, this is among the largest classic car shows in the world and had nearly 12,000 registered vehicles this year. That’s a lot of cars to cover.
I took off early from work on a beautiful Friday and was looking forward to putzing around and seeing a few people I hadn’t seen for too long. Well to summarize, I got there, walked around a bit…noticed the ominous sky to the west…and realized all hell was probably going to break loose soon. So all in all I spent a little over an hour there and saw a fraction of the cars. At least I got some photos of some cool rat rods from the Frankensteiner’s crew. ….next year….

Orange you glad I’m not so clever?
Yeah anyways…took a few shots of D’s infamous orange dreamsicle down in my favorite new spot. Nice and quiet and some nice locations. Nevermind the fact that three squads showed up because some moron saw the flashes and assumed gunfire. The cops just laughed and let me keep on shooting. That doesn’t happen everyday…

A couple random images from my shoot with Kimberly. We had some interesting ideas for our shoot…some worked, some didn’t. Hey, at least I learned some stuff. Kimberly is a newer model and did great, I’d definitely recommend her.

DD21 found us at the first drift event at the Milwaukee Mile. The track was a nice change to the smaller more technical tracks we are used to…though this quickly proved to be technical too. The line was difficult to find given how the track matched up to the gearing of most cars. By the afternoon, many had figured out how to approach it and were doing well.
Congrats to Dave Lee for the MWC#2 win. Jordan Connor followed up in second and Clinton Florczyk drove to a third place finish. I should also mention that Clinton was rocking it the most during the day. Nicely done.
Big thanks to Ben for letting me get my driving bug out for a few laps. To thank you, I didn’t even get a single decent picture of you. Next time Ben, next time.
BTW…this gallery and previous from the year are available yet again on www.driftlive.com. Thanks guys.

When I first saw some pictures of Jenny, I knew right away I wanted to shoot her. Old cars. Tattoos. Leather and denim. Great face. What more could you want? I’ve been wanting to do something more on that style, so what a great fit…right? Well a short story shorter goes something along the lines of what you see in the pictures. Some high fashion styled makeup and a full coverage, satiny yellow vintage dress was not what I initially had in mind. Just goes to show that sometimes the unexpected leads to some nice looks.

She gets her full sleeve finished soon, should be shooting that I hope with maybe a rod thrown in.
